Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
We've written this in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to info@accquan.net.
1. Who looks after your information
Accquan is run by GoGreen Technologies (opens in a new tab), Buea, Cameroon. GoGreen Technologies (opens in a new tab) is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: info@accquan.net.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your full name, email address, phone number, preferred language and password (stored only in scrambled form, so nobody can read it).
- Identity checks: your national ID number, photos of your ID card and a photo of you, collected through our Engagement Form (and later in the app).
- Savings records: the Annual Njangis you join, the days you pay, the amounts, fees and late fees, and payment references.
- Security information: login sessions, the internet address and device used to log in, and records of important actions, so we can keep accounts safe.
- Messages: anything you send us, for example by email.
3. Why we use it
- To create and run your account and your Annual Njangi memberships.
- To confirm who you are and protect the community against fraud and fake accounts.
- To record your savings and pay them out at the end of the year.
- To send you emails you need, such as confirming your email, resetting your password, and news about your requests.
- To keep Accquan secure and to meet our legal obligations.
We use your information because you agree to it when you join, and because we need it to provide Accquan to you. We never sell your information and we don't use it for advertising.
4. Who can see it
- Other members of your Annual Njangi can see only your name and whether you have saved today. They never see your email, phone number, ID or amounts beyond what the Njangi shows to everyone.
- Accquan admins can see what they need to run the community, such as your details and savings records, and every admin action is recorded.
- Trusted service providers process information for us only to run Accquan: Railway (our servers, in the European Union), Netlify (our website), Resend (our emails, in the European Union), Google (our Engagement Form) and, when they are switched on, Notchpay (mobile money payments) and Cloudinary (secure storage of ID photos).
- Public authorities, only if the law requires it.
5. Information stored outside Cameroon
Some of our service providers store information outside Cameroon, mainly in the European Union. We choose providers with strong security, and we are taking the steps required under Cameroon's personal data protection law (Law No. 2024/017) for these transfers.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and savings records: for as long as you are a member, then for as long as the law requires us to keep financial records.
- ID photos and photos of you: deleted within 12 months after you leave Accquan, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
- Security logs: kept for a limited time, then deleted.
7. How we protect it
Passwords are scrambled, logins expire, all connections are encrypted, ID photos are kept private, access is limited to the people who need it, and every admin action is recorded.
8. Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted (except records we must keep by law). You can also object to how we use it or withdraw your agreement, though this may mean you can no longer take part in Accquan. Write to info@accquan.net. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to Cameroon's Personal Data Protection Authority.
9. Young people
Accquan is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone younger.
10. Cookies
We only use the cookies needed to keep you logged in and remember your language. See our Cookie Notice.
11. Changes
If we change this policy in an important way, we will tell members by email and in the app.
