About Accquan
Accquan is a savings community for young people. Members join an Annual Njangi, save a small amount every day for the year, see who in their group has saved each day, and at the end of the year receive their savings together. Members can also decide together to put their savings towards real assets, such as shares or land.
No. Accquan is a community, not a bank, a microfinance institution or an investment fund. We don't lend money, we don't pay interest and we never promise returns.
Accquan is an initiative of GoGreen Technologies (opens in a new tab), a youth empowerment non-profit based in Buea, Cameroon.
A njangi is the savings group our parents and grandparents have trusted for generations: people save together and hold each other to it. Accquan keeps that idea and adds a clear plan: save every day for a year, then own something real.
While Accquan is a young community, savings are held by GoGreen Technologies (opens in a new tab) on behalf of members, in a dedicated account, only for the purpose members are told about. They are not lent out or used for anything else. Our plan is to move this into a cooperative owned by its members as we grow.
No. Accquan doesn't invest your money for you. At the end of the year, members decide together what to do with their savings, for example buying shares or land as a group. Only members who agree take part.
No. Your savings are what you put in. We don't pay interest and we don't promise any profit. If members later choose to buy an asset together, that asset can go up or down in value.
Through the small daily fee on each payment, which covers payment costs and running the community. Late fees go to the community fund. There is no charge to create an account or to ask to join.

It proves the email belongs to you, so we can send you important messages and help you if you forget your password. You need a confirmed email before you can ask to join an Annual Njangi.
It is a short form in the app, about 5 minutes, that you fill in once per account before your first request to join. It collects a few details about you, someone close to you, a photo of your ID and a selfie, so we can confirm who you are, and you agree to the Member Terms there. After that you can join other Annual Njangis without sending anything again.
To make sure every member is a real person and to protect the community from fake accounts and fraud. Your ID is kept private and is never shown to other members.
Log in, choose an Annual Njangi from the list, read the summary, tick that you commit to save every day, and send your request. An admin checks it and you get an email when you are approved or not.

Yes. You can pay for today or for many days ahead in one payment. Each paid day shows as saved on its own day.
Days are always paid in a row, so your savings stay complete and nothing is forgotten. When you pick a later day, every day before it is included.
Each day ends at midnight, Cameroon time. Paying earlier in the day puts your name on the "saved today" list sooner.
Not inside the same Annual Njangi, because everyone in it saves the same amount for the year. You can join another Annual Njangi with a different amount.
Members of your Annual Njangi see your name on the list of people who have saved today. They never see your email, phone number or ID.

Its late fee is taken from your savings when they are paid out at the end of the year.
The savings you have already made remain yours and are paid to you in the end-of-year window, minus late fees for unpaid missed days.
Withdrawals and the end of the year
No. Annual Njangis are a full-year commitment, so there are no withdrawals during the year. This is what makes the savings add up.
Everyone receives their savings together in one community window, from 25 December to 5 January. We announce the window and the steps in advance.
Your total savings, minus late fees for any missed days you never paid.
To the mobile money number on your account, unless we agree another way with you. Please keep your number up to date.
